We are a Dallas-Fort Worth company that has spent 15 years buying, testing, grading, and reselling phones, tablets, and wearables. More than one million devices have passed through our hands, each one a device that did not end up in a drawer or a landfill.
Who we are
Device Giant is the retail storefront of Nexrise Commerce LLC, a Dallas-Fort Worth electronics company that started in the wholesale trade 15 years ago. We buy phones in volume from carriers, trade-in programs, and enterprise fleets, then test and grade every unit in our own facility. The best devices are sold here and on marketplaces where our seller record is public; the rest move through our wholesale channel to repair shops and resellers around the country.
That dual business matters to you for one reason: we are not a dropshipper. Every phone we sell has been in our building, on our benches, through our process. When something is wrong with a device, it is our problem before it can become yours.
How TrueGrade works
Every device gets the same treatment: a functional test of the essentials, a 25-point TrueGrade inspection covering screen, battery, cameras, buttons, radios, and ports, a certified data wipe, and an honest cosmetic grade. If a unit has a defect we cannot fix economically, we say so in the title and sell it AS-IS with the flaw disclosed, never buried.
Then we back it with a 90-day return window, roughly three times longer than most marketplace sellers offer. We can afford to do that because the inspection happens before the sale, not after the complaint.
The environmental math
Most of a smartphone's lifetime carbon footprint, 85 to 95 percent of it, is spent before the box is opened: mining, refining, and manufacturing. Research commissioned by ADEME, France's national environment agency, estimates that choosing a refurbished phone over a new one avoids about 77 kg of CO2e per device.
Across the million-plus devices we have kept in circulation, that estimate works out to roughly 77,000 metric tons, about 170 million pounds, of CO2e that never had to be emitted, along with tons of raw material that never had to be mined. We will not pretend precision the science does not offer, so take the figure as what it is: a defensible estimate built on published research. The direction is not in doubt. Every reused phone is one fewer phone that has to be built.
